Homemade Glass Release
Here is the formula and additional instructions.
YOUR USE OF THIS IS STRICTLY AT YOUR OWN RISK.
BE SURE TO USE ALL SAFETY DEVICES - MASK, SAFETY GLASSES ETC.
This is the formula I developed on my own through a lot of research. Feel free to tweak this formula to what you feel works for you.
You can use it on most ceramics found in Thrift Stores or your neighbors cupboard.😆
Can also be used on kiln shelves, Stainless Steel Molds and commercial fusing molds.
Completely wash off ANY  previously used mold release like ZYP, Kiln Wash etc.
Use on a commercial mold may not be recommended by the mold manufacturer so do this at your own risk.
If it doesn’t work to your liking, you can always wash it off.

All the ingredients are available at most Ceramic shops. If these terms don’t seem familiar to you ask the ceramic shop - they will know.
Cost for all ingredients should be under $25 in one pound quantities you only need 265  grams for a batch.

Homemade Glass Release Formula
Mix 160 grams of Alumina Hydrate Powder
40 grams of Kaolin 6 Tile
40 grams of Kaolin EPK
25 grams of Flint 395
Mix these in a separate lidded container and shake it baby shake it! 😆
Also needed, in  a separate hopefully air tight lidded container mix the following.
1/4 cup of any Latex paint - I use Kilz
1/4 cup of Water - I use Distilled Water but you can use tap water.
THOROUGHLY mix these two together first.
Then sift in 1/2 cup of the Homemade Glass Release mix.
Stir completely while combining.
You may find this is a little thick if so, use a spray bottle (or a few drops) and add a little water.
You can also spray the water on the mold that had the HGR on it to make it flow in small areas.
But, do this from about a foot away - you just want to mist it.
Store any left over HGR in an air tight container.  If it dries out you can reconstitute it with water.
Feel free to share this formula but please do not post it on ANY forum - Simply post this link.
If you have any questions you can email me at [email protected]
Put Glass in the subject line You can also call or text me at 248-877-0828
Keep on fusing - it is good for the mind and soul.
