Powermatic Vacuum Adapter
To prepare this Vacuum Adapter you will need a the following.
¼ NPT Fitting and some thread sealer.
There are many types of fitting configurations. We have found that a fitting with a straight nipple works the best. The nipple needs to match the inside diameter of the hose you choose. It is normally a little undersize – simply lightly heat it with a heat gun or hair dryer so that it expands enough to easily slip over the nipple – when it cools it will shrink for a tight fit to the nipple.
Feel free to use any configuration of fitting you wish. Just be careful not to use anything too heavy of a fitting like a quick connecter.
You can use a plastic or brass fitting – we prefer a brass fitting.
Install the fitting with thread sealer to the Vacuum Adapter
Two appropriate size Hose Clamps.
The size will depend upon upon the size hose you use in the next step.
A hose to connect your Vacuum pump to the fitting.
The hose length length depends upon where you wish to have your Vacuum Pump.
Put the Hose Clamps over the hose and attach the hose to your Vacuum Pump and Vacuum Adapter. Install the hose clamps.
I can't possibly know the size or configuration of the fitting on your Vacuum Pump – just make sure the fittings are the same diameter for the Pump and Adapter so that the hose will properly fit.
Simply insert the Vacuum Adapter into the hole in the Hand Wheel.
Start at a slow speed to ensure everything is installed and working properly.
