Expansion Chucky

The Expansion Chucky is available in three different sizes to accommodate many different woodturning projects.

We would like to thank Al Hockenbery who suggested we make something for holding and finishing Napkin Rings.

We took things a few steps further and decided to make the three different sizes of Expansion Chucky's.

Each Expansion Chucky is able to increase 3/4" total in size (in 1/4" increments) by adding the appropriate sized Expansion Ring.

Latest update 3/1/12:  We are now offering OPTIONAL Expansion Rings for the 1" and 2" Expansion Chucky in 1/8" increments.

Sorry but we do not offer this option for the 3" Expansion Chucky.

The Expansion Chucky includes your choice size of the Base Unit (1", 2" or 3" diameter hub)

plus one each of the three 1/4" increment Expansion Rings.

The Expansion Chucky expands just enough to ensure a tight fit without marring the finish.

Expansion Chucky's can be expanded from both the front and rear of the Chucky enabling you to hold such items as Napkin Rings or Bracelets, as well as Hollow Forms, Ornaments, Goblets and many more items.

A 7/32 hex wrench is used when expanding from the front and a 5/16 wrench is used to expand from the back.

Wrenches are not included.

Note: The Expansion Chucky does not adjust to all diameters within the given 1/4" increment ranges.  They only expand about .020 to hold the workpiece.  Pre-planning your workpiece inside diameter is essential.  Consider purchasing the Optional 1/8" increment sized Expansion Rings (shown below) to widen your range of sizes.
